After Narin's recent joining bringing the Felix family back to the front of Gray's mind, he felt it best to speak to Johannes about the kind of ilk they'd just let into their Clan. Even ex-ilk. The leader needed to know what kind of people that family was made of of, and what kind of people became their enforcers. What might come of Narin's presence.
His first stop was the library, as Joh seemed to spend quite a bit of time there.

Gray fidgeted with the hem of his hoodie restlessly, trying to articulate "what was wrong with her". "You know of the Felix family, right? What they've done?" Gray snorted. "Ignorance is bliss, hate to have to shatter it." How he wished he could share Johannes lack of understanding on the matter, that he'd never been exposed to their cruelty. "They're a family that has their hands in everything. They tend to stay away from the bigger groups, but if you go far enough that your out of supplies, they'll be there." They were like vultures, but instead of feasting on the dead, they feasted on the desperate.
"Food, water, it seems like a dream come true to any weary traveler. A miracle. But they sell other things, too. Weapons and protection and medicine, and more... unsavory things." He swallowed, hoping Johannes would get the picture without him having to paint it. "They breed like fucking vermin, and if their family wasn't big enough already, they have enforcers. People like Narin. They help them carry out those... horrific things, and kidnap more people - kids, usually - to either indoctrinate or... or sell." He shuddered. Would that have been his fate if Diana hadn't hidden him?

He supposed, as Gray spoke, that they were lucky. The Lodge wasn't always thriving, but it was stable, compared to those who were truly desperate out in the wilderness. A scoff left him at 'ignorance', but he just leaned against the wall, watching the teen carefully. He didn't want to think about what unsavory meant. He didn't feel the need to doubt the kid. "You're saying Narin's one of them." He paused. "And so were you."
