as she pulled the door shut behind her, a shutter when through amor's petite frame. the feeling of being watched had become a regular thing for the teen recently. she had become uneasy, looking over her shoulder every few moments in attempt to catch something that would explain the eerie feeling; there was never anything there. when she walked to her car by herself, she could swear she could hear faint footsteps that weren't her own. she couldn't bring herself to tell anyone, figuring she was simply imaging things and was unable to find a reason for anyone to be following her.
that night, it was no different. amor had left a small party she was at, not really feeling too well. ajax had walked her out to her car, kissing her goodnight before going back into the house. the girl was so happy and giddy about this boy that she had leaned against her car, grinning like an idiot as she watched him walk back inside and thought about the encounter. just in the few moments she was sitting there alone, the feeling began to set in and fear started in the pit of her stomach. she then rushed home, believing that being there would solve the problem.
she had been leaning against the wood door, quickly replaying the events in her head and taking a deep breath before locking the door as she usually did. just being at home cured her fear, she was safe and sound. her parents were gone for the night, at some important overnight conference or something, so she was home alone. amor went to get a glass of water then to the medicine cabinet, getting some advil to help her headache. she took a couple pills and washed them down with water then splashed her face with some water. as mor was drying her face, she heard a knock at the door. being slightly naïve, mor thought nothing of it and went to see who was there at this time of night. looking through the window, she saw nothing but the lit up porch. this is when she started to actually get scared; but, she still tried to pass it off as just some kids ding-dong-ditching her or something along those lines. then something hit one of the windows at the back of the house. amor froze.
"amor... you're okay.... it's probably just a branch hitting the window from the... the wind! yeah, that's what it was.." the brunette spoke to herself, her words choppy and her tone coated in absolute fear. she began making her way to the game room, where she was pretty sure the sound had come from. her body trembled as she stuck her head through the door slightly, looking out the big windows. nothing. she gulped, pulling her head back into the dark hallway and closing her eyes, "see. nothing," she whispered to herself once again, tears in her eyes. she felt so incredibly stupid for being so scared, but couldn't shake it. amor knew deep down that something was wrong and had been for the past month or so and it had been gradually building and building.
there was another knock at the door and then a pause, "oh, common, mor. are you still playing hard to get?" she head a muffled voice through the front door. amor had to cover her mouth from making a sound. a few silent moments passed that felt like a century before she heard the door handle being twisted and then they pushed on the door, trying to get it open. "amor! let me in! i know you want to see me!" the voice said again. amor was crying at this point and unable to move. someone was trying to get into her home and had been following her at least, as far as she knew, the last month. a frustrated grumble sounded from the door and then it was quiet. amor stayed against the wall in the hallway like she had been for quite a long time after it went quiet.
she didn't make a move until she was convinced he had left. she couldn't fathom someone sticking around any longer than that to terrorize her. mor started to walk towards the front of her house, still staying quiet and tip-toeing. when she didn't hear anything or see anything from the front windows, she let out a deep breath, feeling pretty relieved. then a face popped up in the window, "ah, there you are.". she screamed, turning and running to her room. she could hear him calling for her and trying every way imaginable to get in that wasn't breaking a window. amor sat against her bedroom door, crying and nearly hyperventilating. the girl was unable to think straight as she pulled out her phone. she called the first person that came to mind. ajax forrester. she was too scared and in too much of a scramble to think of calling the cops or her parents.
"hey.. what's going on?" he answered, a tinge of concern in his voice. "s-someone's t-trying to get into h-house," amor managed to get out between sobs. "what?" ajax asked her in disbelief and confusion. "someone's been following me and-and now they're trying to get in my hou-" she was cut off by her own scream as she heard the guy slamming his body into the front door. "mor!.. amor! are you okay?" ajax yelled into the phone. "please help," amor cried, her body almost shaking too hard to hold the phone. "okay... okay! i'll be right there." ajax said before hanging up the phone.
