"and then you draw your initials in the side with the stick- ah, darnit." nate watched as the sand castle he had worked so hard on for angel crumbled down in front of the two of them. he frowned and looked at his daughter pouting. "well, we can start from square one?" in response, the toddler picked up a handful of sand in her small, chubby hands and threw it at nate. the man winced and shut his eyes tight, pursing his lips. the girl started giggling and, just as she was about to put what sand was left on her hands in her mouth, another man leaned down to pick her up. nate spit out the sand and wiped off his face before he turned to look up at farrah who had angel propped up on his hip. nate smiled up at him and stood up, brushing himself off. "she's a jokester! did you see what that little devil did?" he said, obviously joking. in return farrah just let out a breathy laugh and shook his head. "her name's angel; it doesn't mean she has to act like one, love."

even after years of them being together, nate still couldn't get over farrah calling him 'babe' and 'love'. not that it was a bad thing. he loved it. he loved being farrah's, and he loved that farrah was his. nate rolled his eyes and leaned down to be eye level with the blonde girl and smiled at her. he poked her nose and felt his heart grow bigger when he saw the smile on her face and how she'd cover her nose to keep him from poking it again. "awww, come on. let pap see your cute, tiny nose." he cooed to her with a small pout. angel shook her head and turned to hide her face in farrah's chest. farrah put a hand on her head and kissed the top of it. he frowned slightly when he realized how hot she felt and moved back to take his seat underneath the umbrella. he placed the young girl in his lap, turning to nate and asked for sunscreen. nate handed him the bottle of sunscreen, and watched as farrah began to reapply the lotion that would keep their daughter safe from the sun's harmful rays.

"hey farrah?" "yes, nate?" "i love you two. a lot. like one would think i'd be forever alone because i'm so annoying and hard to handle. the last thing anyone would picture is me with a kid when i'm a kid myself... albeit not a very cute one. i'm the dumb ones in the back of the class that drool on themselves and practice falling asleep with their eyes open-" nate's rambling was cut off by farrah pressing his lips to nate's. farrah reached a hand up to cup the side of nate's jaw and he looked nate in the eyes with a frown. "shut up. i love you so fucking much, you don't even understand." nate smiled softly and nodded. "i love you too, babe."

"good. now reapply your sunscreen before you burn to a crisp."
