Join glanced at him. To save him? John frowned. “Sherlock, you idiot. I’ve been in a war. You don’t have to throw your life away to save me.” He said. After a minute, he stood up, pulling Sherlock into a hug.

he frowned. “they had a sniper set on you. you wouldn’t have known..” he mumbled, and made a soft noise at the hug. he hugged back a bit weakly, but it was still tight.

John closed his eyes, sighing shakily. “...Are you alright?” He asked quietly

he nodded, moving to nuzzle john gently.

He kept him close, sighing. “...I missed you.” He whisoered quietky. He knew Sherlock probably didn’t want this physical contact, but...John just needed to be close to him right now

sherlock, however, didn’t want to let go. his eyes were full of tears, but he didn’t let them fall, and he kept calm. “i missed you too..”

After a long time, John slowly pulled away. He glanced up at Sherlock. He glanced him over, tears in his eyes. “I’m sure Lestrade missed you more though. They’ve been helplesss down there without their detective to help.” He said

he laughed in a broken way, moving to wipe his own tears. “i don’t doubt that..”

John blinked, looking at him. He smiled faintly for a momemt before it fell. “...If you ever pull a god damn stunt like that again, I will personally hunt you down.” He whispered
