jamie had left his room after a while, but most everyone was asleep. he hadn't been able to rest, as the baby wouldn't stop crying, and he had tried everything he possibly could. now, he was just laying on the communal couch, his metal hand over his eyes and his real hand on the baby's back while his pegleg rested on the floor. every once in a while, the baby would sniffle, and he would start humming.

Mako had been asleep, but when he heard soft sniffling after a while, he emerged from where he'd been laying, tilting his head as he looked at Jamie and the baby. He sighed and approached as carefully and quietly as he could, gently touching the other's head and saying softly, "Jamie, why aren't you in bed...?"

[dannychan]

he made a soft noise. "the baby won't go to sleep, and i thought my room might be freaking him out but he won't sleep out here either."

[peridot.]

He frowned and said quietly, sighing softly, "Ah, poor thing. Maybe he's just not used to here yet." He moved to crouch near the other, looking at the baby carefully.

at the sight of mako, the baby started to giggle and reach at him.

He blinked and smiled, chuckling softly and reaching out to let the baby play with one of his fingers, "Hey there, little one. It's time to go to sleep~"

the baby played happily with mako's finger, giggling. jamie smiled slightly. "can you give it a try..?"

[peridot.]

He smiled back at the little child and then looked at Jamie, blinking and tilting his head, "Try to get him to sleep? I can. I can't guarantee it'll work though."
