she smiled and moved to pull him into a hug. "i should have stuck around."

Newt tensed up immediately as she pulled him into a hug, and he cursed internally, mumbling softly as he tried not to move, "U-Uhm, yeah, it would've been nice. But I'm sure you have important things to do."

instantly, she hooked her figer under the back of the under. "you don't have to hide, kid. my best friend is trans."

[peridot.]

He let out a soft squeak as he felt a finger against his back, and he instantly flushed, hiding his face in her shoulder and mumbling, "A-Ah, I didn't mean for you to find out."

she blinked. "i love hugs. you wouldn't have been able to."

[peridot.]

Feeling tears spring to his eyes, Newt took a shaky little breath and let out a sharp laugh, mumbling, "I suppose that's t-true... Still didn't want you to find out though." He then burrowed further into her shoulder, mumbling something quick and muffled into her clothes, not actually meant for her to hear, "You're really pretty and I thought you wouldn't like me if..  if you knew."

she smiled. "i'm a bitch, but i'm not a cold hearted one." she said softly.

"You're not a bitch." He said with a little frown as he pulled back a bit, scrubbing at his eyes and mumbling, "I just... I'm pretty insecure about it."

she hummed. "oh, i know how to change a tire. i just felt bad about saying no." she said.

He blinked and squeaked, saying quietly, "W-Wait, seriously? You didn't have to do that, it's not like I was gonna cry if I didn't see you." That wasn't entirely a lie. He then placed the tools down, crossing his arms over his chest a bit as he inspected the tire.
