John's words were a slap in the face--never mind that he didn't know him, couldn't know him, so everything he said was coming out of his ass--to Mettaton, it felt like a grievous insult, and he took it to heart, his blood already boiling again despite Sel's earlier interference.
But what John said next, Mettaton could feel the contempt rolling off him in waves, and every word out of his mouth made him angrier, more righteous--his features had flushed red, and it was only the desire to hear just how fucking badly Whiskers could make this situation, that he hadn't already tried to stab him.
"Bitches."
His eyes met John's, their cold blue boring into his skull--and the rush of anger, this time, was far too much for him to control, Sel be damned. He lunged, but as he was purely enraged--he dropped the knife on the ground, wanting to beat this man bloody with his fists and nothing else. Nothing left his mouth but a hiss of anger--he had no sense of a controlled fight, all he knew was he had two fists and a good few inches on this man, and he wanted to pummel him to the ground until he couldn't get up. He was more than this puny weakling, who resorted to name-calling, and insults--who'd insulted everything about him--and he could take a lot, because he knew in the back of his mind he'd done the same thing--but when it came to his femininity, or masculinity, or whatever the hell you wanted to call it--when it came to that being insulted, he couldn't stay peaceful.
