John looked up, knowing that whoever was calling out for a Whiskers was looking for him. It was kind of nice having that as a nickname, considering there were two Johns running around now.
He grimaced as he saw who exactly was looking for him; Tatiana wasn't very old, not even an adult, but she was still frightening to him. A grim reminder that not everybody cared about morals or rules, and that there were plenty of people ready to bash your face in if they got annoyed with you.
"Sharpening my spear." He responded bluntly. He didn't mind being blunt and honest with people, even if that pissed them off; he'd been dancing with death the second he stepped into the Badlands, he was kind of numb to it now.
