John didn't solidly fall into grunt or worm; he was too strong-willed to be a worm, but too measly and blood-shy to be a grunt. So he was more of a pseudo-grunt; useless in all ways except for catching food and entertaining the others.
But it meant he didn't endure the blatant torture the worms had to endure, which was fine enough with him. If it meant running around and acting macho every once in a while, he was fine with that; he could be cutthroat and scary, he just didn't want to be most of the time.
He was trotting through the streets, a bag slung over his shoulder with a few measly rodent bodies inside; he wasn't good at catching bigger stuff, so he tried to catch his small prey in bulk. He already had to share with Sel sometimes and keep himself from starving, so he was pretty protective over his food.
Still, noticing Jamie rummaging through the trash for food made him hesitate. He knew he should just keep walking, get home and cook up all this food and try to ignore the nagging thoughts in the back of his head that he was just gonna let someone starve out in the streets.
He took a deep breath and sighed; he didn't mind going hungry tonight, it wasn't a big deal. He'd just have to work harder tomorrow to make up for the loss of food.
"Catch." He said, before aiming to toss his bag containing a vole and two rabbits at Jamison. They weren't skinned and were completely uncooked, but he was pretty sure Jamison could figure it out.
