John wasn't all that much of a homemaker; he supposed he built a home in those lonely solitary cells during his time spent in the prison colony, but it was only the bare necessities and he spent his time surrounded by vermin and trash.

So he wasn't the best when it came to making homes feel homey; even the spot he was living in now that he was in the Badlands was just the bare necessities, with a few traps and modifications to make sure nobody stole his shit.

But he didn't just come to the Badlands to hang out in his place of living all day; whether he liked it or not, he was pretty sure Sel would break his legs if he tried to avoid her. So he took to the streets, not sure where she was but not caring if it took him a while to find her. Sadly, it only took him a couple minutes before he came across Mettaton and Sel, both looking at a fairly nicely kept house.

He glanced at both of them questioningly, but didn't say anything for now.
