♔  Yes, Shep was quite the fool. Sort of. Ves would have normally groaned and buried his face in the pillow, probably would have given the finger, or looked for Twinkie and grabbed her and held her against his head and just laid there, covering his face in her fur, but this was, in fact, a matter of panic. There was a stranger in his room, and his brother was no where to be seen. What if this man broke into his house? What if he broke in, with plans to do some awful horrible things to him?

♔  ...not that Ves would be particularly upset. He has been quite lonely.

♔  He stared down at the man on the floor, trying to take in who it was. It was dark, and with his shitty eyesight, he could hardly make out this stranger. The only thing he could guess was from his voice and laugh. He hadn't heard his laugh before, but that voice... well, it wasn't every day you'd hear it. He recognized it like a glass of liquor. Sharp and sour, but welcoming. Ves groaned and dropped back on the bed, arm flopping over his eyes as Twinkie hopped back up onto the bed; she had jumped off when Shepherd fell, out of worry.

♔  "Don't call me that." He grumbled, shifting his arm to look to Shepherd to make sure he got up okay. "You scared the shit out of me. I think...I have every right to."

♔  He'd love to lean over and strangle Shep for scaring him like that, but he knew better. Not in front of the kids. Well, Twinkie.
