♔  Ves was used to this, so much so that it got to the point that he was used to the hangovers. It was one thing to wake up with a slight headache and a nauseous stomach, but another to wake up to a cold cloth on his head. At first he thought that perhaps it was Axel, after all, his brother definitely would have known of him getting absolutely wasted and then end up back at the house. Come to think of it, Ves couldn't even remember how he got home. All he could remember was Teddy, Shepherd, and Salem coming over to him. He couldn't remember the conversations at all. He could hardly remember anything anymore.

♔  He felt the hand over his forehead and for a moment, he thought that perhaps he was having sleep paralysis again. His mother did that frequently with him, would brush his face and move his hair from his eyes. She would always apologize for waking him, but she would just stand there and stare, with a face that Vesania could not see. It was always so blurry. She was always so blurry. So distant. The last time he had seen her, she seemed nearly translucent, almost as if she was like a ghost. Like she had been throughout his childhood. Just a ghost.

♔  Ves groaned, but when he heard a strange voice, he was immediately awake and aware. That was not his mother, and that sure as shit was not his brother. His hand shot out upon realizing that he was not, in fact, paralyzed. He kept his hand flat as he shot it out, hopefully, towards the other man's throat. He had no idea who this stranger was, and why he was in his home, and, frankly, he was fucking terrified. He did admit he'd woken up to worse after drinking so much, but not in his own home.

♔  "Who-?" He slurred, eyes snapping open and struggling to take in this figure at his bed.

♔  The only comforting thing was Twinkie stepping on his stomach.
