rich had yet to decide where he preferred to spend his days. both the lodge and the village had their own list of pros and cons. there was more to do in the village, though rich had to say he preferred the quiet and slow life around the lodge more days than not. on days he didn’t spend busying himself at the village, he chose to relax and unwind in various places around the lodge.

he watched nonchalantly from a chair on the porch as maisie wandered up towards the lodge. he couldn’t say he had seen her in a while - though the times they ran into each other seemed to be few and far between. still, as rarely as they crossed paths, there was still something different about maise that was quite easy to place.

“hey, maise,” he greeted, not waiting too long before saying, “how are you? you look tired.” rich couldn’t be blamed for stating the obvious there.
