huffing a short breath, head tilting back briefly in amusement, he found a small smirk twitch at his lips. he glanced towards his brother, noting, “like you would do much better than either of us.” a gentle attempt to rope the man into it, though will didn’t seem to be interested in taking a turn, but simply trying to increase the competitive nature that he knew thrived inside of the younger brother. frederick always chased down the opportunity to get his adrenaline running. something that could potentially go wrong seemed to be so right for the young man. throwing some semblance of competition into the mix only made it that much more enticing for fred; the blonde was already looking forward to giving bowie a run for his money. with all of their talk - and fred not quite seeming to have high expectations for bowie himself - he was still eager to see just how far aspen would go. and, with expectant eyes, he watched the man jump up onto the board, watching as the man started down the slope.

he watched closely as he made it halfway down, managing to stay on the board even as it flew up a bit in the air, the man landing with balance and ease that freddie knew he didn’t have. “he’s actually doing it, huh?” he ended up saying to will, glancing over at the man with an all-too knowing look. god, fred was absolutely screwed in this one. he underestimated aspen just a bit too much. though, it seemed that he spoke too soon, watching as the board shot out from under him, landing on his ass before completely reaching the bottom. fred watched closely, briefly wondering if bowie would complain about the failure or not -- but instead, the dumbass raised his arms into the air, exclaiming about how he did it.

something flashed in his eyes, lit aflame from the excitement of competition. “oh, yeah?” he hums. “as much as i’d hate to steal your thunder, i’m going to show you how to do it without falling on your ass.” quite big talk for someone who knew next to nothing about boards.
