Home? This was never supposed to be home, merely just another place to stay. To survive. The Stirling family had seen life as they once knew it crash down all around them with little they could do to prevent or slow the destruction which seemed to follow behind their heels. Their life had once been glamorous and exciting - it all felt so easy when they were on top. But, when their reign came to an abrupt and violent end, Flintlock Lodge was the closest thing to a refuge as they could find.
Years later, this was home to Edmund. It was no refuge when all he could think of was how that life of crime seemed to go on by without his family. Nearly five years on after that incident and Alfred was no longer in the picture. Heir to the family business, Eddie knew that he ought to make his father proud, but he’d do so where he felt at home. Here, in Flintlock Lodge. This was his mountain of safety, as he hoped all other Flintlockers saw this group, too.
Upon seeing a small gathering nearby the village, Eddie wandered closer, gloved hands shoved deep into the pockets of his coat and rifle slung lazily over his shoulder. Brows quirked together briefly, features otherwise unreadable as he noted the newcomer who seemingly recognized Seb. Eddie stopped nearby, eyes flitting from Alton to Seb, then lingering on Maxine for a moment before looking back towards the newcomer. ❝ Looking for a new place. ❞ He couldn’t help but notice the way the newcomer’s gaze lingered on Max, a pang of an indescribable feeling settling uncomfortably in his stomach. But, Eddie chose to stand back, instead observing the greeting quietly. He’d only pipe up if he had to, but it seemed like the others had it all under control.
