— when he arrived at flintlock, he had only heard very little about the village. here, it seemed like that was all that the flintlockers were working on. people were quick to revamp the place and ready it for the summer tourist season, for people wanting to leave the summer heat for a snowy getaway. a quick trip down from the lodge was enough to have richard feel almost in awe that this sort of place still existed. stores were open, little cafes, a bar, a hotel meant for overnight stays. it was all so interesting.
heading outside of the cafe with a cup of black coffee, he settled for leaning against the building, one hand in his coat pocket. he absently sipped at his coffee as he watched people move past with their summer preparations. so this was going to be his new normal for a while. he contemplated that for a moment, observing as a few others passed by and they offered friendly smiles his way as they rushed along. his lips twitched briefly. guess this wasn’t the worst place to be.
