Knuckles gently rapped against the ajar barn door before Eddie stepped in. His brother was so often one for solitude, Thomas having been surviving in his own company for years, that Eddie was sure that Tommy was probably content being alone in the village as he mucked out the stables. But, something told him that perhaps he should check up on Tommy, at least show his face. He was met by three of Tommy’s dogs - Fluffy, Dolly and Copter - padding over with contentment as they greeted Ed with wagging tails.

❝ It’s warm in here. ❞ Eddie pointed out as he wandered further into the barn, hands in his pockets as he watched his brother with a pitchfork, shoveling manure up and tipping it into a wheelbarrow. The wind chill outside was what made the weather unbearable on most days but, inside the barn, Eddie was even somewhat tempted to remove his coat just like Tommy had.

Tom paused for a moment, beads of sweat dotted across his forehead as he peered over towards Eddie before he continued working. ❝ Nice ‘n’ cosy for all the horses. ❞ He commented factually, otherwise silent as he worked away. Ed lowered his head to watch as Copter stood sniffing at his shoes before Eddie sighed and wandered towards the open stable, not without picking up his own pitchfork along the way.

And then, wordlessly, he began to shovel up the manure alongside his brother, Tommy glancing over towards his brother with surprise before the both of them silently worked together to get the job done.
