— fred procrastinated setting up his tent. well, he wasn’t sure if procrastinating was the best term for the word. rather than setting up his own tent right away, he had gone around bothering others as they set up theirs. he even lent a hand or two and helped a few people set their tent up if they didn’t know how. yet, by the time he had gotten around to setting his tent up, everyone else had already started to go around and have their own kind of fun. as he set his tent up, he decided that he would find something he could do to have fun.
going for a late night swim appeared to be a fun idea at first. he offered an invite to as many people that were still awake, and he hoped to god they wouldn’t disappoint and actually show up. guess he could only hope for that. once he got close enough to the water, he didn’t hesitate in throwing his shirt off, tossing it over towards the pile of his socks and shoes. “you know what would make this more fun?” he observed to a few others as he took a few steps into the dark waters, illuminated only by the pale moonlight up above. he grinned. “anyone ever gone skinny-dipping?”
though if he genuinely wanted to skinny-dip, he didn’t make any move to carry out his words. he stepped further into the water, about knee deep. the water was cold at this time, but not unbearable. if anything it was almost nice to finally get to swim around in cold waters. he took a few steps further into the lake waiting for a moment before plunging underneath the water, coming back up only a moment later. he turned his gaze back towards the joiners, waving a hand towards the lake.
“come on in! the water’s great.”
