Eddie was going to really regret this tomorrow morning.

The very last time Eddie had ever seen Elijah Richards, he was pretty sure he wanted to kill that bastard. In retrospective, Eddie had probably been overreacting quite some bit, fueled by testosterone and teenage hormones. But, if Eddie said that he wanted to pursue a woman, he was surely not expecting for his best friend to then have the same idea. At the time, it seemed reasonable for him to blow his top.

Years on, Ed wanted to believe that he'd matured tremendously. Nowadays, the memory of their last altercation was enough to make Eddie grimace. And so, when Elijah offered a drink for old time's sake - perhaps a chance to sweep aside any bitter feelings - Eddie eventually caved. He wasn't a man who enjoyed shots of vodka anymore, instead often choosing honey colored liquids instead to sip on, but if Elijah wanted vodka then vodka it was.

Besides, Elijah did offer the chance to unwind for the night. Eddie seriously needed to relax for once; he'd been uptight for far too young, the definition of fun seemed unfounded to him these days. He leaned back on the sofa, frowning over towards Eli as the other man knelt on the ground. Humming passively with agreement, he took the shot glass. ❝ To a rejuvenated friendship. ❞ Eddie repeated halfheartedly, and then downed the glass. The alcohol ignited his senses, Ed cleared his throat uncomfortably before leaning over and nudging his shot glass away from him onto the table.

Elijah exhaled an invigorated cheer, and Eddie huffed a short breath as the corner of his lip twitched. Elijah was already pouring more vodka into his glass, until the bottle hovered over Eddie's glass. ❝ C'mon. ❞ Ed stared across at Elijah blankly, until the bottom lip jutted out. ❝ For me? ❞ Rolling his eyes with a short sigh, Ed gestured towards the glass with the go-ahead before uttering, ❝ A'right, fine. You're a mad man, Elijah. ❞

He was going to regret this tomorrow morning.
