— fred wanted to say he could never forget a face. if he were to run into someone from years ago, he liked to think he wouldn’t forget them. then again, that was being just a bit too confident in himself. surely some one night stands and meaningless flings were blurred, faces and bodies all melting together at some point-- but if they were someone that meant anything to him, fred didn’t forget. either that, or if they were so goddamn beautiful, he would be sure not to.
as he strolled over towards the newcomer, he knew that face. how could he not? a person from the past, the kind of person he saw at certain social events the stirlings threw throughout the years. she was a beautiful one; how could someone forget the face of marlowe english? “well,” he started almost too smoothly, hands in his pockets as he neared. “i was just thinking to myself earlier that this lodge needed a hot russian woman around." there was a gleam in his eyes, a warm grin as he added, "believe it or not.”
he sounded so confident that the two simply couldn’t possibly be complete strangers. they weren’t the best of friends, nor were they even friends, but fred liked to think he made anyone feel welcomed if he knew them well enough. “what brings you here?” there had to be purpose in her choice to come here. nobody simply stumbled upon flintlock by accident. his blue eyes followed her curiously.
