It was fucking cold; compared to the warming beaches and sun-baked concrete streets of the Badlands, Flintlock's version of "spring" was basically just Winter: Warmer Edition. But still he rode on his little fluffy mare through the snow-crystallized mountain landscape, slowly but surely approaching his destination.
Soon he saw the Lodge in the distance, and he slowed his approach to a frustrating crawl. He didn't try to be quiet, he encouraged his mare to step on as many twigs as she wanted and started whistling a cheery tune; he didn't want to freak out the poor Lodge residents by stealthily inserting himself into their midst.
He wasn't coming here to fight, as evidenced by the fact he hadn't brought any other Badlanders with him. Not that he'd come unarmed - scimitar, wound whip and six-shot revolver on his hip showed he was plenty armed - but he couldn't be expected to go into the mountains without ways of defending himself.
