— harrison wasn’t as wary as most of the stirling-morays. he wasn’t very similar to the brothers, if anything quite the opposite, yet he liked to think that was what made the pair so unique. they were a group of brothers that, while different from harrison, still kept him around and treated him like one of their own. it felt nice to be wanted, to have a family almost. hell, he’d do anything for the brothers if they so much as said the word.
generally when he went on patrol with others, he wasn’t usually on the lookout for danger. the point of it was to ensure safety, sure, but danger was so rare around flintlock more often than not that he never expected to run into much trouble. only, it seemed like today that was all going to change. when edmund warned for nobody to move, the whole group stilled. and watched as he bent down to observe a tin can…
the confusion had quickly turned to shock as it was announced that there were traps set up around the area. his gaze wandered towards the stirling-morays, as if they would have more answers and reassurance-- but instead the advice was to retrace their steps carefully, get back to the lodge as soon as possible. something that the stirling-moray brothers didn’t want to get wrapped up in that moment. and who could blame them?
harrison swallowed hard as he turned his gaze back the way they had come, definitely not one of the ‘brave souls’ edmund would probably want to have swing by there later.
“i’m scared,” he quietly uttered to the person next to him, glancing up from the ground briefly to see if he was the only one reasonably shaken up from the sudden turn of events. if edmund hadn’t noticed the traps… he swallowed hard and began to carefully try and retrace his steps.
