— he turned his head over his shoulder at the sound of footsteps. tinny was heading over. great. every young kid needed to sit with some man while they “stargazed” - also meaning, “tried to get shitfaced.” at first he figured the kid would greet him before going off on his merry way. a soft greeting. mister addy. while the new title wasn’t quite expected, he couldn’t help but shake his head in slight amusement. mister addy.. guess he must be getting way too fucking old for this.
then, however, the kid softly asked if he could sit by him. it wasn’t like he could say no. though, he still looked at tinny for a brief moment and, rather than answering the question, asked, “isn’t it past your bedtime?” catalyst neared with mo, and they had answered the question for addy. after all, what could he do to stop tinny, toss him off the edge? he glanced at catalyst and mo, then tinny, then he turned his gaze to the ocean once again. “don’t give me any ideas.” then he paused and, unsure if the kid would take him seriously or not, said, “you can sit over here.” with that he then took a swig of his bottle.
“she keeping you up?” seemed pretty obvious with the way she was fidgeting in their arms just moments ago. thank god he didn’t have a damn kid.
