I’VE SEEN THIS ROAD BEFORE // FIELD DAY EVENT

AND CHANCES ARE, THEY WON'T GO FAR | | |
Salem had heard tale on the wind of some sort of party thing, held in a city that he wasn't familiar with. Catalyst had said they were allowed to go and to play nice, and Salem was fully intending to take advantage of the opportunity to do anything; sitting around stewing in his anger couldn't be healthy.

Seeing the kids running about, and people walking through the crowded streets; well, Salem wasn't sure what to make of it. He'd never seen such a large grouping of people since he was much younger, before the blackout even; he was sure there was a large population in the Badlands, but he hadn't gotten a chance to carve out a social life there just yet.

"Could've lived without seeing the skulls." Salem quipped to himself as he dodged past what appeared to be a few friends, huddled together talking. He felt a bit out of place, and he hadn't seen any other Badlanders show up yet; well, whatever. He wasn't going to stick to his groupmates' sides even if they were here, he wasn't some shy child.

A water balloon splashed by his feet, and he jumped. His hand went to the hilt of his sword instinctively, but he didn't draw it and instead searched for the poor sap who'd missed their shot and nodded at them with a kind smile; it was a kid, probably around fifteen? Yeah, he didn't want them to assume he was gonna charge at them with a sword.

Moving his hands to hook around his belt instead, he decided to head over towards the person he'd been informed was the organizer of this event, and probably the leader of this place. Might as well chat with that guy for a bit, see if he had any suggestions for events to check out. Or he would, if he didn't notice someone else already engaged in conversation with the other man.

He'd drop in and start chatting completely uninvited, but he figured it wasn't worth the awkwardness. Instead he started searching for a place to get some water balloons; whenever someone from the Badlands did show up, they'd be greeted by a fun surprise; Fun for him, at least.
