 things had been rather quiet in the badlands. addy wanted to think of it as a good thing, but addy over the years had grown so used to quiet being a bad thing. a calm before the storm. that still didn’t stop him from walking around, scoping the scene sometimes to see if there was anything particularly awry. and, today, it simply seemed like the only thing slightly out of place was that someone was actually reading, sitting on a blanket, out at the beach.. it was enough to catch the eye. how come the world has gone to shit, and people still find it entertaining to relax and read? seemed more like boring bullshit than something that could catch the eye.
as he got closer, he noticed that catalyst had beat him there. figures. the leader always seemed to be a step ahead of the redhead (not that he was surprised, just constantly noticed this). walking up to the group, he simply got there in enough time to hear the person - frankie - saying they’ll tell them.. something if they lended her a cigarette. last addy had seen of frankie, he hadn’t exactly been welcoming -- he hadn’t wanted her just welcomed in with open arms, at least… perhaps this could be his one chance of redemption. it wasn’t him being nice, just him… fuck, he didn’t know. trying to get rid of some cigarettes so he didn’t die of lung cancer or some shit like that. digging a pack out of his pocket, he held it out for her. “here. take one.â€Â
