Ananke Amedda —
— damned if he does damned if he doesn't
— born in relative obscurity on the planet ryloth, to a former ambassador that had made friends with the twi'lek neighbors and had decided to stick around. ananke was their first child - and unfortunately their last.
— ananke's birth was plagued with complications, complications that ended with his mother dying shortly after delivery. his father never got over the injustice of losing his wife, and thus began a rocky, unsure relationship between the two.
— ananke was named after the goddess of inevitability, perhaps in an attempt to deal with his troubling birth as his father never named him - his uncle did. fate brought him her, and necessity kept him alive.
— ananke showed traits of force sensitivity when he was a young boy, but his father discouraged these attempts (especially around the force-sensitive twi'leks), leaving ananke unsure of what he was even doing.
— his training as a jedi was... rough. his emotional attachment to the world made him difficult to train, and some speculated that perhaps he was more gray than jedi.
