CORNELIUS NOUVEL: This is Lucerne's older brother who's recently been murdered by a gang that is after Lucerne and Addy. Lucerne and Cornelius always had a rocky relationship as Cornelius had always been very demeaning towards Lucerne. Lucerne would come across as very snide and irritated by Cornelius' presence, but he still felt a fondness towards his older brother as he was the only person who seemed to truly
understand Lucerne. Cornelius knew that he tended to scourge Lucerne but never truly meant it maliciously. He always saw Lucerne as the scared little boy he once was who needed his big brother to keep him safe. Cornelius felt as if it was his duty to take care of his little brother, up until the moment he died.
ADDY DOUGLAS: This is Lucerne's only friend, if you can even
call him his friend. Lucerne tends to deny their friendship though ultimately, Addy is Lucerne's favorite person. He has a fondness towards the redhead unlike any other emotion he's felt towards anyone else before; a feeling that Addy is his lifelong companion. They tend to bicker and fight often, but that is only because they both have very strong personalities. Ultimately, Lucerne really enjoys spending time with Addy and is actually quite protective over his friend. There seems to be a mutual reliance between the two of them; it would be difficult for either of them to function without one another. Addy offers a humanizing balance to the sometimes over-rational mind of Lucerne. Ultimately, despite finding it difficult to connect with people on an emotional level, Addy is Lucerne's pressure point.
