It had been some time since his father's death, but Walter was still not quite ready to lead. He knew everything he had to do. His father had passed the knowledge down to him, after all, and it wasn't like he wasn't popular- he had won the votes of his clanmates fairly. Now all he had to do was fulfill their expectations. But, it was still... difficult. His lack of confidence following his father's passing was a major issue. He was almost afraid to show his face. Still, he knew that there was something important he needed to do.
The winged feline poked his head outside of his den. In the dark of the overhang, his clanmates milled about. They seemed a bit... restless. Perhaps that was his fault. He hadn't exactly been the most available leader. If that was the right word for it. Walter blinked.
He padded past his clan and entered the outdoors, taking in the light that he had almost forgotten. It was cold out- after all, winter was starting to take hold of their territory -but it was nice. Refreshing. He took a breath. Maybe someone would come out and talk to him.
