When Gavin hadn't come into work for two days, Nines had been understandably worried. Sure, he'd been having some struggles with emotions ever since he had deviated, but he knew that he cared about Gavin as his partner and gradually growing friend. Still, since nobody else was panicking, he figured that he shouldn't either. Perhaps Gavin had just decided to take some break time or something along those lines, and just hadn't informed him. So, he had decided to do all of the paperwork that Gavin hated doing as a sort of surprise for when the other got back.
However, when Gavin had come back into work, he didn't seem the same. Sure, occasionally he was sort of lazy, but right now he just seemed like... The living dead. Scanning the other over, Nines' LED spun a soft yellow before he said quietly, "Detective Reed... Are you in good health?"
