wynter was born in london, england. however, he had barely been a year old before the apocalypse had started. his parents bought plane tickets for the last flight to america to go live with family; their grandparents.[table]
his parents had always been a bit irresponsible, making their kids babysit them rather than the other way around. it also meant that the overton siblings had to take care of each other rather than relying on their parents to raise them. it seemed to work for a while, except the grandparents were starting to not like this dysfunctional family. she wanted them out immediately, especially since supplies were getting low. however, their mother wouldn't have any of it. before the overton family could get forced out, their mother killed them-- and, though she swore to the kids it was all for the greater good, all of them, including wynter, left.
his sister, ruby, and his brother, silas, split off from the group first. colton, sierra, flynn, paige, and wynter became a group for a while. eventually, they ran into another group, and they all became closer and formed a bigger team together. however, over the course of their trip, the group started to get smaller. colton died, people from the other group were leaving to join different ones. and, as wyn's seemingly second-family became closer, there was one man who stuck out from the rest.
his name was jace sullivan, and the two immediately clicked, and fell in love. they were madly in love with each other, literally inseparable. soulmates of the best kind.
so, when they decided they wanted to try and face this new world alone, the two of them left the group. the couple was doing just fine on their own, managing to make it through the years, just the two of them. jace was a good provider, and wyn was constantly there to worry over the two of them and make sure they had what they needed.
yet, the world was cruel, and it seemed like it threw another obstacle wyn's way.
jace and wynter were attacked by another lone group, ambushed. they came at the couple with knives and guns- and jace sacrificed his own life so that wynter could make a run for it. losing the love of his life broke him, it really did.
while running, he ran straight into camp apocalypse territory. his time there was fairly short-lived, though, before he was on the run with his brother to escape a cult from his brother's past. now they live in a trailer park in bluestem prairie, where they're honestly kinda thriving.
