The ceiling of the Great Hall is alight with stars, and it is arguably Cameron's favourite part of returning to Hogwarts after a summer at home; that is, of course, excluding the Welcome Feast. She stops by the Owlery before heading to the Great Hall, to drop off her albino owl, Lucifer, and give him a happy pat on the head, leaving a bag of treats in the corner of the room so she's got something to give him whenever he returns from collecting her mail. Cameron's mostly just excited to get some food in her stomach, the Cauldron Cakes and pumpkin juice from the train ride here feel so long ago, she doesn't even know if she'd actually had them, or if the whole thing had just been one elaborate dream.
Regardless, she heads straight for the Slytherin table, since the hall is pretty much empty right now, and she wants to get a good seat. Cameron can't spot anyone she knows just yet, so she just leans her elbows on the table, absentmindedly humming a tune. She likes going home for the holidays, her parents are always there at King's Cross to pick her up, and sometimes her stepdad even brings a snack because he knows she's always hungry, but Hogwarts has been a second home for her ever since she'd stepped foot into the castle all those years ago, and she likes being here as well.
