[div style="text-align: justify; width:490px;font-size:9.2pt; line-height:1.4"]It wasn't an easy journey here, whether it was through the mountains or the mine, and she couldn't imagine the stress it might put on a horse, either, especially one more accustomed to warmer weather. The same went for people, really, though she was glad none of them demonstrated the dieting habits of ice crawlers- that would be...morbid, to say the least. Eating whatever ended up dying in the snow was not a bright picture, although among insects it was much easier a concept to digest, especially since so many were cannibalistic by nature. The same could not be said for humans, and she would prefer it to stay that way for as long as she was here. Of the things on her avoidance list, that was at least in the top three things she never wanted to see. Spending as much time around insects as she did led to very interesting thoughts on the same behavior reflected in humans, which sometimes kept her up late at night. But Ellie didn't allow herself to be so easily distracted as of late, what with her responsibilities; if she was awake at odd hours, it was to patrol or to check on other people in the lodge. That was never not a necessity here, because despite the freezing climate, strangers tended to arrive more often than she believed they would.
Case in point: the man on his horse.
She wasn't close enough to speak with him, and she didn't want to shout, so she folded her arms over her chest and stood in place, hoping he had the visual acuity to halt the horse. Ellie wasn't certain she wanted to test her horse-dodging skills today, and not in the snow.
