dinesh knew that the only reason his parents were going to this church was to make friends. they were strictly muslim, and just for this, his mother has stripped her hijab. it was obvious she wasn't comfortable, but he had it around her neck just in case.
dinesh wasn't used to wearing so many layers, either. he wore three pairs of socks because his mother was afraid he would got frost bite, and his shoes were too tight because of them. he fiddled with his sleeve and nodded. he wasn't great at understanding english yet. sure, he had taken a few lessons back at home and he knew the basics, but it was very hard to hold a conversation. he hesitated. "hello." he greeted and held out a hand. "i am.. dinesh." he introduced.
