Ottawa, the man she mistook for Jesus the first time she saw him, though his flaws became evident the longer that they had ventured together. Samsa, the rat who had no intention of becoming a part of the family before he ended up growing on them like some sort of lovable fungus. She had teased them before, filled their pillows with rabbit poo and watched them blame it on one another, but this situation seemed too surreal to be happening. She watched from atop Jaqarhan as Hilbert tried to slow the bleeding, watching his lips move but hearing no sound. Her heartbeat slowed to a dull thudding, something to be ignored, but the blood... had Ott already lost too much?

With a small twitch of her heels, Jaq launched forward, leaving deep hoof prints in the malleable snow as he charged forth. They weren't far from the lodge, but alone, there was no way that either of her brothers would be able to make it back. "Samsa, Samsa!" The horse hadn't even stopped when she flung herself from the saddle, watching as he skidded to a halt as she attempted to regain her balance. "Can ya get  him inta the saddle? I can... I can boost ya up, and then we can go back to the Lodge. Are ya- can ya lift 'im?"
