idk if you have one yet, but get a crossbow. if you've got enough health and the raptor isn't too strong you can take the hits and knock it out fairly easily, or just get like a little tower or smth you can stand on and shoot it from (or a rock, though you run the risk of the raptor climbing up it)
or get an argent and a taming pen. that's much safer but getting the argent is hard and making a taming pen can be time consuming
