When he's alone with someone, he'll copy what they say and appeal to their nature, changing himself in order to better fit their ideal person. This causes him to disregard his personal sexual or romantic attractions, making him completely blank in that manner because even if he could feel it wouldn't matter to him anyways. I.e., an extreme example would be if a trans character approached him he'd sympathize with their dysphoria and even compulsively lie about his experiences.
example:
trans character: I feel odd about my body. I was born this way, but I want to be another, or I don't feel healthy at all. I just feel like a mess.
taylor: I have the same problem. As a kid, my mother and father were very old-fashioned, and didn't like what was going on in the world before the blackout. We lived in this village with other people like them ... one day I got into my mom's makeup, and I tried it on, and I looked in her antique mirror on her little pink dresser... (chuckles) ... I was so happy, seeing myself wearing her lipstick and her eyeliner. I even grew out my hair and tried dressing a little more ambiguously so people wouldn't be able to tell. But now it's just so hard, you know? To get the resources we need to become who we want to be.
trans character: Oh, wow... it's so hard finding others like us. We could go through this together, maybe? I could help you, you could help me. It'll be amazing. We can be who we were destined to become.
taylor: (flustered) ... Oh, really? Gosh, that would be wonderful... Thank God I already have a girl name, right?
