jamie had left his room after a while, but most everyone was asleep. he hadn't been able to rest, as the baby wouldn't stop crying, and he had tried everything he possibly could. now, he was just laying on the communal couch, his metal hand over his eyes and his real hand on the baby's back while his pegleg rested on the floor. every once in a while, the baby would sniffle, and he would start humming.
