He relaxed slightly, almost unnoticably, when Metta backed away; he hated that he was so tense around this guy, but at the same time it made sense. He hated that it made sense, but it did; Metta was just as dangerous as any other Badlander, hell more dangerous then most others because he had power and didn't mind using it.
As Metta spoke, he seemed to be visibly struggling at holding something back; or perhaps just finding the right words? Mettaton always said he was less violent then most of the other Badlanders, but snapped at a mere insult. Why should he believe anything Mettaton said? He sounded like he regretted it, but at the same time was angry.
"Alright-" John said, taking a breath as if he was going to continue but clampied his jaw shut after a few moments. He didn't say anything else, his blue eyes cold and distant as he stared Mettaton down. If he was expecting an apology, he wasn't getting any; John's pride was keeping him from showing any remorse for what happened.
