It was fairly late on the day when Sherlock received the phone call. There had been a break in and Lestrade wanted Sherlock to check it out. Seemed simple enough. However, it was something to do so Sherlock agreed to take it.

When he arrived, he was surprised. It was a fun downa oartment. A place where only poor people could afford to live. Why rob from them? There were plenty of other more rich folk to rob.

Sherlock moved over to the apartment that was broken into. A few police men moved away to let him on. "Sherlock." A voice said. It was Lestrade. "The man who this place belongs to is over there if you have to interview him." He said, gesturing to John in the corner. Sherlock nodded before moving over to John. He stopped once in front of him, looking him over.

john had been leaning on his cane heavily, having been glad to havr brought his gun with him that day, but all of his money and medals and such had been stolen. he looked up st sherlock and blinked. "who are you?@

Sherlock eyed him over. So he was formerly from the military. His limp was psychosomatic. Must have been wounded and sent home on an army pension. Would explain why he's living in such a rundown place. He blinekd.

"My name is Sherlock Holmes. I'm a consulting detective. I'll be the one dealing with this break in." He said.

he rose an eye brow. "police don't.. consult detectives. what is a consulting detective?"

He blinked. So he's never heard about him before. "It's a job I created. The police consult me when a case is out of their league, which is always. So I help, or rather solve, the case fro them." Sherlock said.

he frowned. "right.. it's just a break in. they don't need a detective."

He blinked. "Oh believe me, they do. The whole lot of them are idiots." Sherlock said. He blinked. "Do you know of anyone who would break in and take something?" He askwd

He blinked. "Interesting." He said. He then moved away, starting to search around the room. He looked like a hawk right now, scanning everything for detailsZ
