He dropped out of school when he was in his junior year. He didn't ave a family or home to go to, so a boy's home took him in and sent him down to live with a family in the south. He's not really open to strangers. It's rare that he will ever get attached to people. He enjoys drawing in a sketchbook and likes being outside.

Josh had been waiting all day for his dads truck to pull up along the fence so he could get a good look at the new kid. He had been out jumping hurdles with destony while her foal grazed in another pasture. As he heard tired on gravel, he looked to the gravel road to see the old and beaten red pick up pulling into the long drive. He flicked the reins as he followed, and his father looked out the window. "Joshua, I thought I told you to get your chores done!" The man hollered. Josh nodded. "Did them already, pa. Cleaned out my three stables, mowed what I could before the tractor broke down again.. it's Naomi and Katie that haven't done their chores yet!" He called back over the rattling engine of the truck. "You got that kid, or did he jump out of the highway?" "No, he's here josh. You'll get to meet him at the house!"

Richard had been pretty silent the whole truck ride. He hated being around others. He was uncomfortable with strangers anyway, so that didn't help matters. He blinked, looking over though when the boy's father started talking. He watched him for a omelet before looking away.

He nodded and flicked the reins again, rocking the horse with his heel and feeling her shoot off. His father shook his head. "That was my son joshua. He's around your age, pretty er.. how do I put this.. flamboyant."

He watched as the other rode off. "Seems alright to me." He murmured quietly.

He blinked. "Well.. he's very excitable and talkative, and it's been a few years since he met someone his own age." He explained.

He nodded, looking ahead. Once they were at the house and he parked the car, Richard grabbed his bag and got out of the truck.

There on the porch steps sat Joshua, looking hopeful and happy as ever. He jumped to his feet, holding out a hand to rick to shake. "Howdy- oh god I'm conforming to stereotypes I'm sorry- I'm Joshua. My sisters call me josh if you want to call me that."

He blinked, following the father towards the house until he was stopped on the porch. He seemed a bit startled by the sudden outburst. He cleared his throat, looking down at Josh's hand. He waited a moment before shaking it. "Richard Collins. Nice to meet you." He said.
