— addy thought he brought just about everything the group would’ve needed in order to clean up the beach. some trash bags, even a cooler with water whenever someone wanted a drink. the longer they worked out in the sun, though, the more obvious it became that addy forgot to bring one thing, if not for the others but for himself. putting a hand on his upper arm, skin hot to the touch, he hissed under his breath. “goddamn it.” he turned his head towards the rest of the group and called, ”did anyone bring sunscreen?” it seemed a bit late for him to ask that, now. he still looked around at the rest of the cleanup crew.
their work was just about done, it seemed. most of the trash that had found its way on the beach was picked up, people cleaning beach chairs, others scoping along the water for any trash that needed picked up. looking around, he didn’t look as pleased with the progress as he truly felt. of course addy could never look impressed with the work. when did he ever seem happy with anything?
