[b]sheogorath
[b]and i say to myself, what a wonderful world He was tired. So very tired. Exhausted, really, and his episodes had not ceased, from the time he had ranted for all to see, to the moment he had killed those two Insurrection members. Sheogorath sat upon the pearly sands of the beach, his amber gaze vacant as he stared outward toward the rolling, azure sea. Steadily, he felt something changing within his gut, reaching into his mind to twist his thoughts, and he sadly accepted it. Accepted the sense of security that his old fantasy world could give him, to hide him away from the harsh reality of the world. His anger had faded, and now, the sorrow had claimed his mind, quiet, solemn grief for what he was becoming in that moment.
As Sheogorath watched the frothing waves, his gaze wavered with one last ounce of sadness, and then shifted with newfound light as the man embraced his past, embraced the world he had crafted for himself, his former fantasy brought into his presence once more. Steadily, laughter began to bubble past his lips, dripping into the open air, as reality left his mind. No more would the cruelties of the world effect him. No more would the harshness of the Badlands torment his soul. Somewhere, deep down, there was a final breath of what he had hoped would be redemption, before it faded forever. He didn't stop laughing.

[align=center][div style="text-align: left; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 8.3pt; letter-spacing: .3px; line-height: 1.35; padding: 4px;"]It had been very quickly established that so long as he remained in the Badlands, stress would be a perpetual, ever-permeating emotion. It was less a feeling and more a looming presence, lingering at his shoulder and breathing down his neck. One person lashed out at another; two more were killed. Santos regarded him with the same nostalgic horror as though he'd seen him die; Mike was impossible to read, an odd mix between approving and disdainful; Cat was even more logically ambiguous than they were morally; and Sheogorath had, Link now accepted, truly gone insane.
Still, it felt like two steps backwards rather than two steps off the rails and into the waiting, yawning maw of the pit below. Sheogorath hadn't flung himself off a well-trodden path into the abyss; he'd returned to a ditch from which he'd been trying to climb out of. Such a homecoming, it seemed, was announced by laughter. First the ranting, then the murders, now this  Link wasn't even certain Sheogorath was capable of reason. If he'd ever been.
Given Sheo's recent propensity for violence, Link opted for silence, hand clenching and unclenching around a particularly smooth pebble. The dog at his heels  a stray that often wandered after him, curious and happy for the company  nosed at it insistently, tail wagging, until he threw it. Not for the first time in Sheogorath's presence, he contemplated speaking and failed to come up with anything worth saying; instead, he crouched in the sand and waited for the dog to return. For Sheo to stop laughing. For something to make some goddamn sense.

Sheogorath had thought himself to be alone, but as it turns out, there was another presence lurking nearby. He saw the thrown pebble hit the sand, the hound chasing after it, and his head shifted, neck twisting to allow for twin, fiery orbs to settle upon Link's figure amidst the grit. Had Sheogorath been capable of it in that moment, he would have felt saddened that his friend and dance partner was seeing him in such a state, but instead, the red head felt a sense of glee. He let a broad smile wrap his facial features, splashing his right hand through the sand to spray golden granules across the shore.
[b]"Link! Come to watch the sea, or gawk at how handsome I am?" Sheogorath teased cheerily. "I know, I know, it's the eyes. Sometimes I just wish I could pluck them out of me skull and keep them on a key-chain, but if I did that, I wouldn't be able to see! A real shame that, for if I were to become blind, how could I enjoy them? Heh." A small bubble of laughter slithered with honeyed smoothness from his lips. "You have nice eyes, though, maybe I'll take yers instead." It was a joke, of course, and his tone suggested as much, but the threat still lingered amidst the warmth of the air. "Hah! Kiddin' ya. I like yer eyes better in yer head. Speakin' of eyes, did ya know you can cook them a bit like an egg? Hard boiled? Scrambled? Tastes the same, either way. I suppose it's a personal preference." Sheogorath hummed with playful contemplation.
