He nuzzled close to him. “...I...” He trailed off. “I wanted to, Gabe. I do listen to what you tell me. But...I couldn’t save anyone in that explosion. And I don’t want to feel that useless again. I couldn’t sit by and watch her struggle without trying to help her.” He whisoered

he shook his head. "jesse, people die every day. you're going to feel that feeling a lot, and there's nothing you can do about it." he said softly. "it's hard, trust me, i know, big you can't go against what i say.. especially not after what just happened.."

He blinked, nodding. “Okay.” He murmured. He stayed next to Gabe for a while before slwoly moving away.

he sighed and stood, brushing his hair back. "eat and then get some rest. it's still early."

Jesse nodded. “Yes Dad.” He murmjred softky.

he blinked, and his eyes widened slightly. "you.. you just called me dad.." he breathed, before covering his mouth and seeming very excited. "you just called me dad!"

He blinked, looking at Gabe. He seemed a bit confused at his excitement. “...Aren’t you though?” He asked.

he nodded. "you've never called me just.. dad."

He blinked, tilting his head. “...Do you want me to more often?” He asked

he blinked. "it's up to you, jesse." he said with a soft smile and moved to leave.
