- oakley zhao but people call him oak: also, he's been called ice queen before cuz he's a really good ice skater
- born january nineteenth
- his mother and father both immigrated from china to the united states after they married about six years before oakley was born and barely spoke a word of english. they managed to establish a life with much difficulty and hardship and a year before oakley was born, they became naturalized citizens which was a long process
- because his parents are from china, they do speak chinese at home but he is also fluent in english
- this boy can skate, like holy heck he is such a talented figure skater but it took years of practice
- the definition of a human golden retriever, he is such a ray of sunshine who loves people and wants people to like him and will do whatever to please people
- when he gets nervous, he talks really really fast to the point of people not being able to understand him and he gets all jumbled up and stuff doesn't make sense and he gets nervous a lot especially when talking in front of people which makes presentations a nightmare
- along with ice skating, he also is an avid skateboarder which surprises people because of how different ice skating and skateboarding are from one another but both allow him to express himself openly and freely it's great
- he isn't that smart, well.... i take that back. he is plenty street smart but when it comes to being smart like book smart he falls short (yeah ironic based on the stereotype)
- his home was very conservative growing up and wasn't even introduced to the idea of sexuality until someone called him a derogatory word when he was thirteen because he's an ice skater and he didn't know what that meant and of course looked it up and found out what it meant; for a while he had been feeling things for guys and he had never known what it was or if it was normal until that happened and found out that it was normal and he still hasn't come out but he himself identifies as gay
- dated a few girls to hide his sexuality because his only ever experience (back when he was called the derogatory word) was that he wouldn't be accepted for being gay
- is a bit of a goofball and loves joking around with people and pulling pranks and just having a good time with friends
- gets really frustrated with himself when he doesn't understand something and he also sometimes falls asleep during school
