  yeah, it's honestly ridiculously easy to take over a clan nowadays
  essentially, all you have to do is tell the staff "hey, my clan wants ExampleClan's board," and if staff thinks ExampleClan is slow enough, they'll let you take the board for yourself- you can even ask them to send all the past threads in the board to the trash to make room for your new clan, and they'll gladly do so
  you don't even have to prove that your clan idea is popular or has any sort of longevity, which leads to a lot of groups being taken over by upstarts, only for the upstarts to fall inactive and get taken over themselves, which continues in an endless cycle
