like i didn't even choose a roomate it was just preferences and it's my preference not theirs and i don't get why it matters so much to them because i'm almost 18 and it is my decision (imma probs change it back without them knowing)

my mom: we aren't against LGBTQ
me: puts "prefer an LGbTQ friendly person" on my housing application
my mom: change that we don't want you exposed to that kind of lifestyle in college
me: changes it because i can't deal with them
me, internally: will probably change it back later

like my god i put one thing down and my parents are like "do you want a gay roommate? are you gay? that doesn't mean what you think it means. we aren't paying for college if you don't take that off your application"

i legit cried because they were fine with all the other things i put but the second i mention LBGTQ it's a long winded rant and i'm gonna be an adult the housing is my decision so it shouldn't matter what i put down because it's who i am living with not who they are living with
