zeke feels like he failed at protecting alfie and his family. and he at first was trying to comfort him but then he realized he didnt rlly want to talk to zeke and so zeke didnt try bc he didnt want to make alfie mad or upset him more than he already was. rlly late at night he texted "i miss you,, sm" bc now he's alone in that house (': he hates being alone. he doesnt know why he isnt staying with stace, maybe cuz he has this hope that maybe alfie will come home and he wants to be there when he does.

alfie was never upset with zeke, but with himself because he's supposed to protect his younger sister and keep her safe and he's the reason she is dead (not that his siblings really blame him excep benji cuz he's an asshole). he's so disgusted with himself and is scared that deep down zeke is ashamed of him or whatever. when alfie gets that text, he just stares at it before sending smth like "i miss you too" and just it's probably been a few weeks or months and alfie really does miss zeke so much

The entire time zeke is alone he just sits on the couch with the tv on but he isn't paying attention and he doesn't eat much he's either working and researching and taking in info about creatures he could potentially come across so he can keep his mind off. When he gets the text back he smiles v v small but it disappears and he just hugs his pillow

alfie just doesn't know what to do because he is scared the relationship is damaged beyond repair because he just basically dropped off the face of the earth without saying anything. like he probably left a note one day/night that basically said sorry and that he was going to stay with his family for a little bit. and he's just waiting anxiously for a reply from zeke

soome happy alfie for a minute: he has a little folder on his phone with pictures of him and zeke and when he's sad, he looks at those pictures and he suddenly is less sad

zeke probably called him but, if alfie didnt answer, he left a message saying "i-i get it. you.. you need time. it's, uh, it's okay. i-i love you." and his voice wavers a bit in it. he basically says the same thing if alfie did pick up.

alfie thought about not answering and went back and forth with himself before finally answering and just hearing zeke's voice and him saying "i love you" made him feel a little bit better and hearing his voice made everything seem a bit better and just went like "i love you too, i'm sorry i just left without saying anything"

so not only did his best friend die in his arms, so did his little sister and he couldn't protect her and then this paired with his instability that followed getting kidnapped and tortured by a hunter results in him pushing zeke away cuz he's ashamed of what happened and just not knowing what to do and probs going to stay with his siblings for a bit
also she would be the second sibling he lost

at some point i will find august muse but for now it is dead and gone

she's gonna be hella sassy and maybe a bit bitchy but she gonna need a girlfriend
