- male at birth, identifies as masculine
- uses mainly masculine pronouns, but doesn't mind gender neutral ones
- he identifies as demi-biromantic as well as bisexual, and he's never been one to discriminate between either gender. he's dated just as many girls as he has guys, and that's quite a handful of people. but they've always been short, quick relationships, no more than one or two have lasted past two months. he's never been able to fully invest in a relationship, mainly since he falls in and out of attraction so easily. but he's definitely one to always have a couple of hook-ups on call whenever he feels lonely

- born in jackson hole, wyoming, he was raised in a small town for most to all of his life with not a lot going on. it was very much a tight-knit community in which everyone knew everyone and everything about everyone else
- his neighborhood was predominately caucasian, so growing up, aries was kind of the oddball. racism wasn't an issue or anything, since people were still sensitive about that, but there were times when he felt out of place but it wasn't bad or anything
- his family is very much the stereotypical all-american family that hosted barbecues while watching football on sunday, played board games on the weekend, went on picnics and what not. but that was what it seemed like to the public only
- his mother isn't in a stable place mentally, she never has been. she's a bit of a religious fanatic, claiming that everything she does is because god wills it. which is fine, and no one in the family really realized the full scope of her problems until aries' younger sister was born
- it was always just the four of them, his mother, father, his older sister maura, and him. but their family grew to five when lucille was born. it was a joyous occasion, of course, at least until his mother began experiencing post-partum depression and couldn't really love lucille
- when aries was seven, he came home from school to witness his mother trying to smother lucille to death with a pillow. no matter how much he and maura tried to pry her off of their younger sister, his mother wouldn't budge, all she would say was that "god wills it, god wills it" while in tears. by the time his mother pulled away, lucille, his six month old sister was dead
- his father came home that night to the three of them solemnly sitting around lucille. his mother was admitted into a mental institution that night and they held a funeral for lucille two weeks later. none of them talk about lucille or the night anymore
- aries was ten when he started showing symptoms of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. maura, was already going to therapy for depression and bipolar disorder and so it wasn't long before aries began to attend therapy as well. though unlike his sister, things weren't going all too well for him
- after attempting to commit suicide when he was eleven, he was admitted into a mental hospital. he stayed there for a full six months and it was probably one of the positive experiences in his life. there he was able to stabilize and get the treatment he needed
- started attending school again when he was twelve, in which their family became the crazy family of the neighborhood, no one really wanted to associate themselves with them aside from people who have been close friends for ages
- aries really struggled in school, and he especially suffered socially. he was a pariah. but he still tried his damnedest to get through school, which, he luckily did. he opened up to people, actually, yet another thing he accounts to going to the mental hospital
- gained a lot of friends in high school, actually, he ended up becoming popular to which he is really grateful for. despite that, he dropped out in his junior year to enlist in the marines. he wasn't necessarily allowed to considering the fact that he didn't have his high school diploma but he managed to work that out with an OSO.
- spent four years in the marines, in which he went on two tours. on top of the trauma he experienced as a child, being in war for one of the tours also added onto his troubles
- when he finally got home, he was a well-respected marine both in wyoming and in the force. but he's been boggled down with extreme PTSD since then as well as depression

- is a very hot-headed individual, especially when he first meets people. it's not difficult to get him riled up, and most people don't want to. luckily, he's very easy to cool down and relax, but even so, he tends to get a bit aggressive (verbally) and defensive while angry
- knows when to step out of a situation. he will be the first to dismiss himself if he finds himself feeling the need to attack or whatever else, and in those moments, it's best to leave him alone, especially when he says to
- hates being pitied, no matter if it's actually sympathy or empathy, he takes it all as pity and he hates it. he feels pathetic and childish whenever he's treated like that, even if he really needs it. unless it's advice or help, he doesn't need it
- very analytical, this is mainly due to his four years in the marines. he has an eye for detail and is a very logical and strategic person. he tends to show very high levels of perception and observation, nothing can get by aries unless it's very well-hidden
- is actually quite charismatic, he makes friends and socializes easily and doesn't have trouble opening up to people. due to this, people put a lot of trust and faith into him, and although that can be nerve-wracking for some people, aries is very grateful that people can entrust him with their secrets or tasks
- a big thing to note about aries is that he's very open-minded and adventurous. he's definitely not afraid to take a risk or experience something new in his life, he always welcomes change and tries to get others to do the same
- hates talking about his family. it's an extremely touchy subject for him and he tends to grow cold and indifferent whenever his family comes up in the conversation. the only two people he makes an exception for is his father and his older sister. don't bother mentioning his mother or lucille or his own childhood unless you want him to be upset
- flirty. aries is very much a flirty person and isn't afraid to show signs of interest whenever he is interested in someone. for him, it's merely a game of cat and mouse and he'd rather be the cat. it's the thrill of the chase for him, and there needs to be a chase for him to stay interested. and once the other person falls for him though, he's rather quick to lose the flame he had for them, which explains his never-ending hook-ups
- it takes a lot for him to truly fall in love. and he doesn't feel like he ever has been. for him, love is a very scary subject, and he vehemently despises it. he's extremely non-committal, and he isn't afraid to point that out as soon as someone falls for him. but this is particularly due to the fact that he's terrified to ever actually fall in love with someone

- suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, both from his experiences as a child and also when he enlisted in the marines. due to this, he struggles with going back to his hometown, or even attempting to contact his mother, he's often restless during the night due to nightmares, and he's often a bit uncomfortable with people approaching him from behind or anywhere where he can't see them first. he doesn't mind touch, but he'd rather be the one to initiate it first, but he doesn't mind all too much. probably the two biggest things for him though is his severe hyper-vigilance and disassociation. he really struggles with his paranoia, of feeling like there's an intruder in his home in the middle of the night or maybe someone following him and that tends to put him into a state of both panic and fear. as for disassociation, he often experiences sudden episodes where he'll just randomly blank out in the middle of whatever he's doing and relive his trauma in the day
- also struggles with insomnia, generally self-induced, so to speak. he can definitely fall asleep fine, it's not particularly insomnia, where he literally can't, but he doesn't want to sleep. he just doesn't want to relive either of his traumas, which generally happens in his dreams, so he tries to stay up for as long as he can, which means from three to six days as a time
- depression seems to run in the family, especially on his father's side. but for him, it's not all just genetics, it's also just his past. though, he is on medication for his depression, so it's not as bad as it used to be, but from time to time, it does affect him a bit

- little spoon, he loves being spooned, don't judge him it's warm ok
- has probably fucked both your friend and their lover tbh
- he's a fuckin lil piece of shit sometimes ok he can't help it it just happens
- very unaffected by heat?? for some reason like he's v tolerable of it. once he put his hand on an open fire and was completely like,, fine?? mentally. he had fuckin third degree burns lmao
- might be hypersexual like his sex drive is off the charts it's kinda insane
- LOVES KIDS like he always has a soft spot for them, maybe due to losing lucille at such a young age. he's extremely good at taking care of them and most to all of them love him ok
- v protective of his family despite hating to talk about them. like if u make some kinda backhanded insult at anyone in his family, esp his mom, he will cut off your fingers and feed them to snakes
- has a bit of medical experience since he first wanted to become a medic in the military, so he studied up in high school, but obvi he had a change of paths
- doesn't sugarcoat anything, will tell u how it is, how he wants to
- has two dogs, one of them is a big, fluffy saint bernard named wistor who is his retired psychiatric service dog. he also now has clooney who is a german shepherd and his new service dog. he often calls clooney "boy" as a nickname rather than his name
