— damien has intermittent explosive disorder, which is a behavioral disorder characterized by explosive outbursts of anger and violence, often to the point of rage, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand. he developed it at an early age but it went undiagnosed and untreated until he was 22. since then, he's been taking medication for it, and trying to control himself better and even going to therapy.
— when he was a child his abusive dad punished him by shoving him into dark rooms, causing him to develop extreme nyctophobia.

— damien was born to david and martha crane. he was a happy boy. even though his family wasn't very rich, he enjoyed his time as a child. he loved it.
— when he was 7 or 8, his mother left his father because he had taken up drinking, not bothering to take damien with her or fight for custody. he was left with his father.
— from that point on, his dad started to take his anger out when he was drunk on damien, often hitting him, shoving him into dark closets, and threatening him.
— damien started high school at a new school in wyoming and was frequently made fun of for being more mean looking than the rest of the students. he was more of a strong silent type. even some of his teachers were unsettled by how daunting he looked. however, on the inside, he was kind, caring, and lonely.
— when damien was twenty, and already struggling more and more with anger issues as he finished puberty, his father and him got into an altercation where damien ended up beating his father nearly to death. this caused a great amount of trouble for damien and he was forced to go into treatment for his ied and be appointed a different guardian so that he could live a reasonably happy life.
— he then picked up a job as a truck driver and began doing late night driving. he ended up in echo point, oregon, after a delivery, and he liked it so much that he decided to stay. by the time he was settled in, he was 26, and now he lives in echo point under the care of allison parker, his legal guardian. she takes care of him and goes to therapy with him.

— as said before, damien goes to therapy for his ied. some sessions can be hard for him because he doesn't like to confront what makes him angry.
