Astrea takes on a rather innocent appearance, seeming to radiate an angelic presence with a pristine atmosphere to her. Being born the runt, she is smaller in stature than most lupines her age, but nonetheless she possess feminine curves in all the right places, sporting a petite figure with long slender legs upon her daring little paws. Her velvety soft fur consists of a delicate fawn colour throughout the majority of her pelt until reaching her dainty paws, tips of her perfectly curved ears, and bushy tail; which is then the creamy pigment fades into a milky white hue resembling that of a pale moon. In spite of her smaller frame, she carries a finesse to her presence; managing to turn heads as she steps into a room. Of course this is but a natural essence to the female, and yet she does not like to flaunt it and is actually rather shy when brought up. Mind you, her lithe build still holds a bit of an athletic touch to it, though it does not make much of a difference as Astrea does not like to involve herself in any type of bodily harm - forcing her to use such strength she will learn and develop from Katastrophéas. Now to her most alluring features, her hazel eyes. But they're really far more than the simple vague word, "hazel". Towards the centre you find yourself drowning in a pool of soft reflective browns ranging from molten mahogany to a pale chestnut tint. As you break through the memorizing clashing of browns and inky black pupil, waves of sea blues lap gently at umber hues seeming to lure you in like a moth to flame. And finally as you reach the outer core, a golden shimmering ring encircles the entire eye to finish off her optics.

Delicate. Astrea is easily bruised like that of a peaches outer sensitive peel, damaged by even the lightest of hits. Words are sticks and stones to her fragile soul and will regularly effect the young fem. She is known to be far too innocent for her own good; while others know when someone is up to no good and is trying to get something out of her, she will deny it and give even the most corrupted beings the benefit of doubt. This may come off as naive, which she in fact is. Because of this attribute, she will find herself a hopeless romantic - believing every male which promises her a sense of true love but in reality only wish to use the pretty fem. This of course will rarely tend to happen due to Katastrophéas constantly drawing away any type of harm to the girl. Do not get her wrong, when she puts her mind to something, I tell you she will accomplish it no matter the obstacles. She is a passionate little pup and will stop at nothing to reach her objective with a larger than life outlook trailing behind her. Despite her passionate and ambitious traits, she is actually quite shy when first introduced to new people. Once you begin to peel her outer shell, you will find within her nectarous centre a caring, loyal and protective friend in her. Though she does relatively nothing about others harsh words, Astrea will not tolerate when her loved ones are threatened or placed in danger. If this occurs, you will discover a whole different side to the delicate peach. There are two sides to every being, and Astrea is no different. She will become highly protective and even hostile if provoked, baring teeth and claw to guard those she cares about. Not to mention she as a matter of fact is a worthy opponent, not necessarily in brute strength, but with her intelligence and strategy. You'd think that with such naiveness she'd be a bit dim however she contains a vast knowledge of battle strategy and war within her young mind. Conquer the mind and the battle is yours.

• She hates all things girly. Dresses? Yuck. Forget fashion, doing your nails, and make up. This girl is the anti-girl and a cliché. Liking “girly” things is not a weakness and not the antithesis of a strong character. She can like skirts and still be strong. One good example of this dynamic is Vin from the Mistborn series. She lives off the street for most of her life and feels strange when she first wears dresses as she passes for nobility, but she also finds that a part of her loves the dresses and dances. And she’s still a super strong character.

• She’s inexplicably good at “guy” things. Changing the oil in her truck? Check. Hand to hand fighting? She’ll take you down. But it’s a mistake to equate strong with “masculine.” It also doesn’t always make sense for your female character to be a pro at these things. Don’t give her a random skill just to seem strong. One good example of having skills that make sense is Tris from Divergent. All the skills she has she gains from her training in Dauntless, so each skill makes sense as she masters it. She’s not just given skills at random, she earns them.

• She’s a trophy. If you replaced your female character with a sexy lamp, would the plot change? If not, you need to rethink your character. She should never be a prize to be won or a trophy for another character. Give her a goal to work towards and have her act and affect the plot. Give her agency within the story. One good example of this is Hermione from the Harry Potter series. Hermione affects the plot in major ways and is a main character. She’s never there just to be a love interest to either of the main characters.

• She has zero personality aside from a troubled past. She’s closed off and a bit of a jerk when she’s not kicking ass. She’s also cliché and unlikeable. Make sure to give her a personality and keep in mind that showing emotions is its own kind of strength. She’s human, not a robot. One good example of this is Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series. She’s had a troubled past but she doesn’t let it change her into an unsocial and closed off person. She has a personality and a good one at that.
